Four Minneapolis teenagers will spend the 2017-18 school year abroad, sponsored by the Minneapolis South Rotary Club as North Star Rotary Youth Exchange Students.

The students, who applied to the club this fall, were interviewed in October by club members and advanced to the district-level interviews. The students received notification of their acceptance and tentative placements in December. Students anticipate a late-summer departure, pending the successful completion of an intensive orientation.

Selected students are:
Gitzie Simonson, a junior at Southwest High, selected for a year in South Korea.
Camryn Simmons, a junior at Southwest High, selected for a year in Colombia.
Julia Larson, a senior at Washburn High, selected for a year in Brazil.
Sophie Martin, a junior at Washburn High, selected for a year in Indonesia.
