Monies raised go to support our inbound students through monthly allowance, district dues, some extracurricular expenses and participation in district events.
Funds raised at previous events created the following opportunity:
* Participation in Camp Enterprise, a weekend long business exploration experience, for this year's student from Uganda
* Registration fees for the Nordic Ski team for our student from Sweden
* Monthly spending allowance (which helps to cover personal expenses like cell phone plans) for students in previous years from Chile, Thailand, France, Sweden, Lithuania, Uganda and more.
Our club hosts one to two exchange students from across the globe each year because it not only enhances their lives, it nourishes ours as well. The original purpose of Rotary Youth Exchange was the thinking that if we only could know each other, there would be less war. This sentiment is more true now than ever.
